SEC Newgate’s research offer in Brisbane is led by Richard Bishop.  With more than two decades of experience providing research and advice to improve government and public sector decision making in Queensland he brings deep methodological and advisory expertise to the team.

Richard has provided research and advice for a broad range of key Queensland Departments and agencies, including the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Queensland Health, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, and Trade and Investment Queensland. His work spans complex policy environments, long term tracking programs and high stakes ad hoc studies, helping clients understand community expectations, manage risk and make confident, evidence-based decisions.

A former Queensland State Lead for Verian Group (previously Kantar Public), Richard is highly experienced in the design and delivery of best practice quantitative and qualitative research. His expertise includes communication and campaign evaluation, behavioural insight to support social change, and robust measurement of community sentiment, trust and acceptance.

Richard is known for translating complex data into clear, practical advice that clients can act on. He works closely with stakeholders to ensure insights are relevant, defensible and aligned to strategic objectives, supporting improved policy outcomes, more effective communications and stronger engagement with the community.
